Bobby-G – Big Face Hunnids [Official Video]

Bronx-native Bobby-G has honed his craft for the better part of a decade with an unwavering passion for making music and telling his origin story. Starting his musical career at the Nuyorican Café performing spoken word at open mic nights, Bobby-G continues to find inspiration in the words of James Baldwin and hip-hop storytellers like DMX, Jay-Z, and The Notorious BIG.
“I want to be known as an artist first. Rapper second. I want to be known as someone who has a deep love for the craft and is dedicated to pushing the culture forward. My purpose in music is to identify the tangents in my life and connect them with societal issues to create a soundscape that helps people navigate through it all.”
Navigating the industry from a mindful distance while focusing on his career, Bobby-G is ready for his resurgence, and his new LP, Gawd Have Mercy, is a testament to that dedication.

“This project is for the dreamers, believers, and overachievers. It’s a love letter to a friend who passed before reaching his zenith and a way for me to connect his dream with the world. It’s for those of us who are looking for a second wind to actualize our goals. There are songs and mantras on the project that I hope will be used as reminders to help motivate anyone trying to realize their dream.
We are all in search of faith, and this doesn’t necessarily mean religion. Faith could just be finding someone close to you that you can rely on or seeing that someone else has similar experiences through their music.”
Gawd Have Mercy blends traditional and contemporary sounds in high-powered tracks throughout the first half of the project like “Big Face Hunnids,” and “Chariots of Fire.” Closing out the project with the soft, subtle tones of “Famous Nobody Pt 2.” Through seamless writing and production, this LP brings to life 13 new tracks that tell a cohesive and unique story of struggle, growth, perspective, and daydreaming.

NineTiss – Take Me Home feat. Annabelle

Songwriter and performer NineTiss oscillates between different musical styles including Rap, R&B and Soul to best transmit his music and texts in all its forms. In an era sometimes noisy, where listening is rare, his music is like a walk with a sweet tempo..

He returns on June 18, with his new single Take Me Home from his next EP Juste après l’orage. This title represents for him a new breath, He goes out of his comfort zone and experiences Afrobeat sounds, a style of music that he listened to throughout his childhood and that he loves enormously.
It is a lovely, sunny piece accompanied by the sweet voice of Annabelle. A feminine signature that is often found in NineTiss music.

After a harsh winter in which melancholy, boredom and weariness were very present in his daily life, his passion for music reminded him that the light he needed was already in him. It inspired him to prepare his EP Juste après l’orage that breathes the sun, freedom and joy of life.
A 4 tracks accompanied by singers Annabelle, Cuanto and Cornic.

A project that will accompany us all this summer to take full advantage of the reopening of the bars, of a life a little brighter that we were all looking forward to..

Electrik Ants – Place To Be

Electrik Ants Defy Classification With Genre-Bending First Album

Dallas-based Electrik Ants are releasing their six-track live studio album Stories Untoldon May 6, 2021 to all platforms.

Recorded on January 6, 2020, no one in Electrik Ants knew what the year or COVID-19 would have in store. Encapsulating the energy of a group described by local media as the “next must-see band” and “busting at the seams with talent,” the Best New Act Award winners recorded live to embody their notoriously vibrant shows–honed playing the likes of the Backwoods Music Festival and opening for Grammy-winner Shaun Martin.

Writing music together since their instruments were pots and pans, Electrik Ants was formed by two brothers who listen to as much Tchaikovsky as Skrillex, as much Thelonious Monk as UGK, and debate Frank Zappa or Gorillaz with regularity. In doing so, Electrik Ants are pioneering the “Hip-Hop Fusion” genre they’ve helped create.

Youthstar [Feature Story]

“OUT PAST CURFEW” is the outcome of the exclusive collaboration of the two MCs and performers Youthstar & Miscellaneous (Chill Bump) in a unique opus. Taking advantage of unexpected free time, they turned 2020 into the perfect year to develop the project and make it happen. It’s hard to overlook the eclecticism, the richness of the subjects covered, the completely crazy flows and the head banging loops of this album whose creation process was the fastest of their respective careers.

Last straight line before the release of the album “OUT PAST CURFEW” from the combo Youthstar & Miscellaneous (Chill Bump) on October 29th with the edgy single KITSUNEGARI between Grime, Bass Music and UK HipHop produced by Mr Frenchwax from the group Supachill. The track drops with a musicvideo in the image of this crazy song and prepares the ground for the title DROPPING LIKE FLIES which will accompany the release of the album at the end of October.

CLASSIC is a true tribute to the 90’s boombap and to all the great MCs who made Hip-Hop. Youthstar & Miscellaneous, surrounded by Cheeko (french rapper from the band Phases Cachées), Skillz & Vex, 2 hyped DJs & scratchers, on a super efficient and sampled production by the beatmaker Degiheugi. One by one, the 3 Mcs express all their consideration for their elders, from Rakim to Jay-Z, from The Roots to the Wu Tang, and even from Doc Gyneco to Mc Solar… they admit frankly that they wouldn’t be here today without them ! “If it weren’t for all of y’all there wouldn’t be none of us… The magic 90’s brought us all to this rap shit!”

“2 shots no chaser” is the first single from the joint album “Out Past Curfew” by Youthstar & Miscellaneous (Chill Bump).
No different from these two entertainers, the track diffuses the same vibrant energy that the MCs deliver on stage. Between two shots of vodka, this colorful music video, shot in the streets of Barcelona, perfectly reflects the different shades they intentionally painted in this opus. It’s the first taste of their explosive upcoming album!

Robyn Bennett – Fight Song [Official Music Video]

Robyn Bennett is back, spreading good vibes and some serious groove with her single “Fight Song.” A high energy, positive, call-to-action anthem with a blend of funky guitars, urban drums, vintage keyboards and brassy riffs. Originally written during a transportation strike in Paris, the song now takes on a whole new meaning during this
global pandemic, where musicians around the world are fighting to keep their art alive. This song is for all the fighters out there : whatever your battles may be, don’t give up.

Ghostown – Breadstick Bowtie (Official Music Video)

Late 90s hip hop vibe with a heavy dose of turntablism.
Blurring the lines between cinema and music,
A Greek guitar riff plays out over a summer evening Sicilian patio, Luciano and Gyp are playing cards when suddenly a bass drum can be heard and the record starts skipping, “Got got got got the shotgun” the stuttered phrase startles them, they look round and see Omar with his gun pointed at them, shiiiiiiiiit!
Lyrics and dialogue are integrated together to present a gangster-esque scenario of kill or be killed, it’s all in the game yo.
Musically centred around a 1920s greek guitar riff and hip hop beats,
Structurally the first part of the song is made up of a constant back and forth between the rap and scratched dialogue until it reaches it’s climax, then the song drops us into a subterranean underwater universe more akin to trip hop, before sliding us back into the main riff where the DJ takes over on the cuts.
